Looking for a TrueCoach alternative? An honest comparison

Both give a personal trainer a branded client experience, and both do it properly. The difference is whose name is on the app. TrueCoach's branding package puts your logo, a colour theme and a yourname.truecoach.co subdomain inside the TrueCoach app; the app your client installs from the App Store or Google Play is still published under TrueCoach's own listing. FitBrand publishes a client app on your own subdomain that carries your name and no one else's, live within minutes — but it is not in any store. Which one is right depends on whether the store install matters more to you than being the only brand on the screen.

The short answer

Pick TrueCoach if…

  • You want your client to install the app from the App Store or Google Play, even though the listing is TrueCoach's
  • You want to collect client payments inside the platform — theirs runs on Stripe and is on every plan
  • You coach from an Android phone and want a coach app on it
  • You want wearable and nutrition data flowing in: Apple Health, Garmin, OURA, WHOOP, MyFitnessPal
  • Being priced in US dollars is fine by you, and you would rather evaluate on a 14-day trial than on a free plan

Point-by-point comparison

The FitBrand column is how our own product behaves today. Every statement in the TrueCoach column is based on information truecoach.co publishes itself (read on August 27, 2026). We write both sides' prices as they are, in their own currencies: the exchange rate moves every day, so we do not convert here and leave the comparison to you.

White-label: what the word covers on each side

TrueCoach sells a package it calls a Custom-Branded Fitness App, available on the Standard plan and above. On their own site that means your logo on the client web app and its emails, a colour theme, and a subdomain in the form yourname.truecoach.co (read on August 27, 2026); their help centre files the same feature under the question “Can I white-label my TrueCoach account?” and answers it with enhanced custom theming. What none of it changes is the store listing: the mobile app your client installs is published by TrueCoach, under TrueCoach's name. On FitBrand's Pro and Elite plans there is no second name at all — and no store listing either.

That structural difference has sides that clearly favour TrueCoach, and there is no point hiding them:

  • It is in the store. Your client searches, installs and updates through Apple and Google, with no link to send and no home-screen step to explain.
  • Money moves inside it. Client payments run on Stripe on every one of their plans; we collect nothing on your behalf.
  • Both sides, both phones. They publish coach apps for iOS and Android; our trainer app on Android is not publicly available.
  • Data flows in. Apple Health, Garmin, OURA, WHOOP and MyFitnessPal feed their platform directly.

The other side of it is what your client actually sees. On TrueCoach the icon on their phone and the page in the store belong to another company; your brand lives in the logo and the colours inside it. On FitBrand's Pro and Elite plans no other company's name appears anywhere — but the app is installed from a link rather than found by searching, because it is a web app (a PWA). Which trade to take depends on whether being in the store is worth more to your business than being the only brand on the screen.

Where FitBrand is strong

Only your name on it

On Pro and Elite the client app, the subdomain, the landing page and the emails all carry your brand and nothing else. Your client never reads another company's name.

Live today

Sign up, upload your logo, pick your colour. Your client app is live at yourbrand.fitbrand.app. There is no review queue to wait out and no developer account to open.

Your language, end to end

The dashboard, the client app and the landing page all in one language, out of 9 supported. Billing in Türkiye is in Turkish lira and support is in Turkish.

AI drafts, you approve

The assistant suggests workout plans, exercise swaps, progress commentary and client messages. None of it reaches the client until you approve it.

Frequently asked questions

What does FitBrand offer as a TrueCoach alternative?

FitBrand gives a personal trainer a client app with their own logo, colour and subdomain (yourbrand.fitbrand.app), carrying no other company's name. It is not published in an app store; the client opens the link and adds it to their home screen, and it works on iOS and Android. That is why the time to go live is measured in minutes, no Apple or Google developer account is needed, and branding changes go live instantly. It comes with a landing page and a blog on the same subdomain, an exercise library with muscle maps and video guides, progress analytics, a calendar, two-way per-exercise notes and push notifications. The interface works in 9 languages, and there is a free plan that never expires.

Does TrueCoach offer a white-label app?

Their own help centre answers the question “Can I white-label my TrueCoach account?” with what it calls enhanced custom theming, unlocked on the Standard plan and above: a colour theme, your logo on the client web app and its emails, and a subdomain in the form yourname.truecoach.co. The marketing page for the same feature is titled Custom-Branded Fitness App. What is not offered anywhere on their site is a listing under your own name: the mobile app your clients install is TrueCoach's own App Store and Google Play listing. So your branding sits inside their app rather than in place of it.

Where is TrueCoach stronger?

In everything that follows from being a store app with a business layer around it. Your client installs from the App Store or Google Play and updates it the way they update everything else. TrueCoach Payments runs on Stripe and collects recurring client payments on every plan, and their pricing FAQ says there are no extra fees; FitBrand collects nothing on your behalf. They publish coach apps for both iOS and Android, while FitBrand's trainer app is not publicly available on Android. They integrate with Apple Health, Garmin, OURA, WHOOP and MyFitnessPal. Their published plans run to 50 active clients, with larger rosters quoted on request (truecoach.co, read on August 27, 2026). If those weigh more with you than being the only brand on the screen, their model meets that directly.

Is FitBrand's client app a real app?

On your client's phone it behaves like an app, with your icon, your splash screen and a full-screen interface, and it can send push notifications on iOS and Android. Technically it is a web app (a PWA), which means it cannot be found by searching the App Store or Google Play — it is installed from a link you send. If you want an app that people find by searching the store, we do that as a separate project under Enterprise, quoted on its own; it is never part of a subscription plan.
